It’s Showtime with Tutu Dance Company
Back for their second year, the region’s leading dance school Tutu Dance Company will present their end-of-year showcase ‘It’s Showtime’ at Margaret River HEART on Saturday 3 December.
This year there will be two concerts; junior dancers will perform at 11:30am and senior dancers at 3pm.
This spectacular of dance and theatrics will feature performers from Cowaramup, Margaret River and surrounds.
For some dancers this will be their first time performing on stage.
Tutu Dance Company is operated by sisters Annelise and Therese Colman, who grew up in Margaret River and from a young age were heavily involved in performing arts in the region.
Associate director Therese Colman said opening in dance school during a global pandemic was a risk they were willing to take, after a survey conducted in Margaret River showed a desire for extra dance classes in the area.
“We began classes in October 2020 and were blown away by the response,” she said.
“We now have enough students to need to put on two showcases. This is a huge milestone for us, given all the red tape and pandemic-mandated restrictions at the beginning of the year.”
“We are excited to present our end-of-year showcase at HEART and witness the excitement of our students as they step onto the stage and underneath the bright lights.”
It’s Showtime is a compilation of classical ballet, jazz, hip-hop and contemporary dance
