Shamrockin’ the Soundshell
A wave of Celtic activity graced the Margaret River HEART Soundshell on Wednesday afternoon at the Margaret River Ukulele Club’s special St Patrick’s Day jam session.
Members of the local music group have been gathering in the outdoor acoustic chamber once a week, following a venue callout to creatives looking for a free space to hone their craft.
Local musician and Uke Club member Diana Gee said the group’s weekly Soundshell rehearsals have been a great opportunity to practise their skills.
“We performed here for the Strings Attached: West Australian Guitar Festival last year and enjoyed every moment,” she said.
“We love this space and performing in an informal environment. Providing free entertainment for the community brings us so much joy.
“The HEART is a great venue and it’s wonderful to see this space being used and buzzing with activity.
“This week, we were joined by some passers-by who enjoyed some Irish tunes, ate their lunch on the lawn and joined us on stage for a couple of songs.
“We welcome anyone with any musical instrument to join our jams – the more the merrier.”
You can catch Margaret River Uke Club in the HEART Soundshell every Wednesday between 1pm and 3pm.
