Local artist bows to the ocean
Local artist Lynn Fenty will reveal her latest oceanic painting exhibition, Our Ocean Planet, at the Margaret River HEART from February 10 until March 12.
Influenced by the many years working on yachts in the Mediterranean and other exotic places around the world, Lynn said her paintings focus on the beauty of the ocean and the need to respect and nurture the sustainability of our planet.
“This exhibition is a testimony to the importance of the life and health of our ocean planet, of which overfishing, pollution and the change of climate are taking a toll,” she said.
“A deeper appreciation could help to gift the generations to come an abundant water world.
“The subject of little boats can also be viewed as a metaphor, representing transition or movement – the journey our lives can take in both sunny and cloudy times.
“I’m overjoyed to be offered the opportunity to showcase my work at the HEART. With such invaluable assistance from the wonderful staff, I’m very proud and excited to release my latest works.”
Community members are invited to come along and celebrate the official opening night of Lynn’s exhibition Our Ocean Planet on Friday February 12, between 5:30pm – 7:00pm. The opening night will be a collaborative celebration, officially opening storyteller and concept artist Joshua Kirschbaum-Mau’s accompanying exhibition in the Foyer Gallery.
Complimentary nibbles will be provided for guests on the night.
Our Ocean Planet can be viewed in the HEART Bar Galley from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 4pm. Entry is free.
